What is a Credit Utilization Ratio (CUR)?

The sum of a consumer's total revolving credit owed divided by the sum of their revolving credit lines. This percentage is an important factor used in calculating a credit score, and many potential lenders consider a healthy CUR to be 30 percent or less. Installment credit is not factored into calculating CUR; only revolving credit, such as credit cards, home equity lines of credit, and personal lines of credit.
