What is a Transaction Fee?

A monetary charge assessed for processing a financial undertaking. With a credit card, it could refer to a number of things, including the fee merchants pay credit card companies for processing purchases, fees charged to a cardholder for certain credit card transactions such as cash advances, a fee paid by a cardholder for a foreign transaction, or more.
